Join us for the Orchestra Open House
The SYO will be hosting another open house on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 at Quance Theatre in the Education Building of the U of S. Twice a year the Saskatoon Youth Orchestra offers a free Orchestra Open House to give young players a chance to improve their skills. Players of orchestral instruments participate in a sectional workshop with our instructors and then get a chance to play with the full SYO during rehearsal. Parents are encouraged to watch them perform toward the end of the evening!
Any young players of orchestral instruments are invited to come out. Many of our current players began this way, but even if you don’t have plans to join the SYO in the future, you are welcome to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to improve your playing skills! Contact Betty Ann Arscott or call 955-6336 for info or to sign up. SYO players are asked to invite friends from school who may like the chance to explore classical music while improving their skills.
Orchestral instruments include flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion, violin, viola, cello, and double bass.
This event is sponsored by the City of Saskatoon.
