Audition Music
Saskatoon Youth Orchestra
Prepare two short contrasting pieces of your own choice. For percussionists, one should be a mallet solo. In addition all audition candidates are to play the orchestral excerpts for their instrument as listed below. All are taken from the Swan Lake Suite Op. 20a by Tchaikovsky. Parts can be downloaded for free at
Audition candidates are encouraged to listen to a recording and review these excerpts with their private instructors.
